3 Parts of Wellness
If someone has good physical, mental, and emotional health, we say that they are well. Dance is a great activity for boosting your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Physical: Dance is a form of exercise. Depending on the style, dance can be aerobic or anaerobic. Dance is good for your heart and for developing strong, lean, flexible muscles.
Mental: Dance requires concentration. Practicing mental focus through dance can help your memory. Improvising in dance can improve your decision making skills and creativity. Dancers "think on their feet"!
Emotional: Dance can help people to relieve stress, worry, or fear. Dance can also be a way to express your feelings (emotions).
Create something that promotes dance as a healthy activity. You can concentrate on physical, mental, or emotional health -- or all three. You will have the rest of this class period as well as our next class to finish your presentation.
