Potatoes in Triangle Trade
-The potato originated in modern-day Southern Peru between 8000 and 5000 BC.
-The Irish used recipes such as Shepards Pie. The Chinese used shredded potatoes to make soups and stews. Lastly, the Europeans mixed rice with grated potatoes to make a type of "stir fry."
-In the Inca Empire, the Aztec Empire, and ancient Rome, potatoes were cultivated and consumed.
-Potatoes influenced the world by being responsible for one-fourth of the world's population growth in the 18th and 19th century. It spread from its origins and became a staple crop in many countries.
