A Book Review By LM
I recently read Artemis Fowl, the first book in the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer, and I really liked it. Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old, greedy, millionaire criminal mastermind who is one of the smartest people in the world. Ever since his father disappeared, driving his mother into insanity, it has been Artemis's job to increase and protect the Fowl fortune. And even though he strongly believes in science, Artemis also believes that it is possible to catch a fairy and receive some of its fairy treasure, as legends tell. After lots of research, Artemis manages to capture a fairy. But she is not the giggly, sparkly creature that he imagined. A cocky, tough, cutting-edge soldier named Holly Short is what he gets instead. Faced with the sudden threat of fairy armies and attacks from her home base, Artemis is getting more than he asked for. But he's incredibly smart, and the fairies find that they've met their match. Will Artemis learn the secrets of the Handbook? Will Holly ever escape Artemis? Can he get the fairy treasure?
