The Mongols took over china in 1206. Led by Genghis Khan, the Mongols increased Trade, and expanded China immensely.

The Yuan Dynasty
In 1260, Kublai Khan, one of the grandsons of Genghis Khan, took over what was left of China. He moved the capital of China to what is now Beijing. Though Kublai Khan expanded trade, conquered much land, and overcame many challenges, he was eventually overthrown by Chinese rebels.
