Baron de Montesquieu
Born wealthy in Aquitaine region of France on January 18, 1689, he was given his title from his uncle. Jumping into the world of government, he gained the respect of fellow philosophers with his ideas on democracy. Montesquieu strengthened the idea of separation of power and had a well rounded education. He studied literature and science in Paris, and went to law school in the University of Bordeaux, and went to work right after graduation. in 1713, his father died after his mother died when he was seven. In 1714 he became a part of the Bordeaux Parliament. In 1715 he was married, and in 1716 his uncle died. lands and titles bre'de Montesquieu. He became deputy president of the Bordeaux Parliament. his masterwork, "The Spirit of Laws" was published in 1748. Montesquieu died February 10, 1755 from a fever.
