From a kids perspective
I was adopted(if you didn't already know) from the Christian Homes agency. There a six members of my family:two of which were adopted-my brother and I. We are the only biracial kids in our family- an effect of adoption. My mom had been infertile and couldn't have a child. She eventually chose to adopt me, after my dad's suggestion. They did a LOT of research before determining where to adopt from. They decided that the standard private agency cost was a small price to pay for having a child of their own-at last. When people find out about my adoption, they usually have a large quantity of questions. For example, Have I met my birth parents? Who is your real mom? Was life in the orphanage hard? Do you regret anything? In this next section, I will answer these questions to the best of my ability and try to give you a small insight to being an adopted child.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q- Who is your real mom?
A- A mother is a person who raised you from their heart, cares for you, and chose you. The woman who I live with does all of that- she watches over me, sacrifices for me, and loves me(she also has the legal right to me as my mother). The woman who gave birth to me has a name-birth mother.
Q- Do you regret anything?
A- I can't regret what I didn't have, can I? I was adopted through an agency, so I was adopted as an infant.
Q- Was life in the orphanage hard?
A- Like I said, I was adopted from an agency as an infant- so I wouldn't remember anything had I been in an orphanage.
Q- Have you met your birth parents?
Yes, I have- my parents are even friends with them on facebook!
Why you should adopt
There are many children in the world who need a home. America is one of the wealthiest countries-give a child a chance at happiness. When you adopt, you are giving a child an opportunity for a good life. You are helping a parent who is not ready for the responsibility of parenthood, and you get a child of your own to love and cherish.
Why put a child in adoption?
If you cannot care for a child, you will want to choose the best option for them and really-there are only two options:abortion and adoption. Why abort when you can adopt? Give the child a chance to live, succeed and be loved. They can be with a family who loves and cares and cherishes them. If you abort- you are ruining a chance of greatness for this world. Truly, adoption is the best option.
