Neil Abercrombie became Hawaii's seventh governor on December 6th, 2010. He grew up in New York and went to college their at Union College. In September 1959 he came to Hawaii to become a teaching assistant at the university of Hawaii where he earned his masters degree in sociology and late a ph. D. in American studies. Governor Abercrombie worked in the state house representative from 1975 to 1979 and in the state senate from 1979 to 1986.

What A Governor Does

Most Governors are the same as the president except they are only in charge of their state. As governor you can suggest state laws and veto state laws. For usually 2 to 4 years, which is how long their terms are, you are chief of National Guard.
