Polio is a contagious viral illness that causes paralysis,difficulty breathing, and sometimes it can cause death. There are 3 forms of polio-abortive polio,non-paralytic,and paralytic. Polio is transmitted through the ingestion of material contaminated with the virus found in poop. Subclinical infection symptoms include headaches,red throat,slight fever,vomiting,sore throat,and more. treatments can include antibiotics,moist heat(to reduce muscle pain),pain killers and more.
There is no treatment for polio although,patients are treated with medication  to treat the symptoms until they recover.
History of Polio:
Polio outbreaks was first reported in United States.Polio struck through in the summer.An Egyptian carving from around 1400 BCE depicts a young man with a leg deformity similar what is caused by polio.Polio reached epidemic proportions in the early 1900s.
