Jackie Robinson was the first African American baseball player. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the late 40's - mid 50's. Before he was on the Dodgers he was on the Monarchs (the negro team of the Brooklyn Dodgers). He had many problems trying to be accepted into the MLB. One of the problems was the fact that it was the time when white people didn't accept African American people. Finally, in the mid 50's he was accepted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. This made everyone accept him as a baseball player.
