Themes of Vanity Fair -Dyllan

1. Beauty

Beauty is one of the most common themes throughout the entire book, the entire Victorian era was based around the women needing to be beautiful and hide behind their clothing.

Rise in social status

Throughout the story we see Becky who is a woman of middle class at best who is surrounding herself with high class people such as the Sedley's.  

The roles of Women and Femininity

The story shows many ways to be a woman in the Victorian era, these are shown as extremes in feminine daintiness, strategics, or being cold to others.
