Six Apps to Help you Learn

NOVA Elements

              NOVA elements is an app that explores the periodic table more in-depth, it is a virtual table that allows the students to interact with the table and learn more about the way it is and why it is. This app is really great because of its interactive components like games or videos that give you a better insight to the periodic table of elements.

Algebra Touch

              Algebra touch is an apple app that is designed for the iPad, it explains algebra in an understanding way to the students. You are able to drag the numbers to either side of the equation, tap the screen to simplify and you can also cross out numbers to eliminate them. The great part is that you are able to create your own equations! Here are just some of the material this app covers: Simplification, Like Terms, Commutativity, Order of Operations, Factorization, Prime Numbers, Elimination, Isolation, Variables, Basic Equations, Distribution, Factoring Out, Exponent Product Rule, and Exponent Quotient Rule.

Shakespeare in Bits

             This app is my favorite discovery so far because I had a hard time understanding Shakespeare in high school and I wish I had this app to help me at the time. This app explains Shakespeare in little versus's of the play, it has clips to go along with the play and translates the words to understandable English. It displays the works of art in animated re-enactments. This app includes, full study notes for every section, analyses, plot summaries, cast biographies and relationships.

Back in Time

                  Back in Time is the most amazing history book I have ever seen, it has interactive lectures, clocks and timelines. It takes you on a stunning exploration of the history of our universe, life and civilization. You can control the timeline using a large clock; this app is very interactive and interesting.

Virtual Cell Animations

                       This app is perfect for a high school biology class, this app has modules that cover aerobic respiration; cellular respiration; meiosis and mitosis; photosynthesis; protein expression; RNA expression; secretion; and signaling. This Virtual Cell app  includes animations, still images, narratives, and content quizzes. It helps the students learn the contents of a cell and how each organelle functions.  

Teacher Kit

                  Teacher Kit is a great app for teachers, it allows the teacher to create lesson plans in an organized way. This is a great personal organizer for teachers, the app allows the teacher to keep track of attendance and overall behavior of all the students. The best part of this app is that its free!
