About Gabriela Kaplan Radiologist
A radiologist, environmental activist, and poet, Gabriela Kaplan, MD, has dedicated her life to serving both local and global communities. In her primary career as a radiologist, Dr. Gabriela Kaplan spent more than 30 years in private practice and in association with Cleveland University Hospitals. Her work in promoting practical solutions to global problems gained the attention of Nobel Laureates and world leaders. Furthermore, her poetry has been well received by several organizations dedicated to promoting creativity in the literary arts.
Following medical training in Mexico's Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara, Dr. Gabriela Kaplan began her career as a radiologist in New York City. She performed her residency in radiology at Columbia University and fellowships at the University of Michigan and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. A member of the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology, Dr. Kaplan is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Kaplan has served as an assistant professor at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University. Her research as a radiologist culminated in original contributions to the journals Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Radiology.
Dedicated to seeking solutions for pressing global issues, Dr. Gabriela Kaplan also heads Lifewatch Group, Ltd. As a Board Member and the group’s President, she collaborates with other professionals to find practical solutions that will help create a sustainable future. She has also lectured on efforts in environmental activism and peace building in Europe, the United States, and South America.
As a poet, Dr. Kaplan has produced two recordings, titled Aquarelles and Reflections. Dr. Kaplan’s achievements were recognized by the International Library of Poetry, which named her an Ambassador in Poetry.
