Israel: A Look at it's Social Issues

A class project in Mr. Smith's English 10 at Cardinal Newman HS

Project Overview

Project Proposal

Name:Remy Gassmann

Period:1

Nation of your choice:Israel

Rationale (or explanation why you are curious about this country): I have a friend who lives there. He used to live here but his sister convinced his family to move there so she could join the army. They also have family there. They are also Jewish.

Summary (of what you already know about the history, geography, culture, and social issues): There are a lot of political issues there. Also fighting with Palestine. Israel is kinda dangerous. It is also relatively small compared to the united states. But then again, so are a lot of places.

Prediction (about what you think you will discover or hope to discover during your research): I think I will discover the cause of the fighting there, because I don't know right now. I don't know about the political leaders.  I also don't know who they are.

Discussion (of the importance of this nation in the global community, i.e., the “so what?”): This nation is important because the US and Israel are close.  The US and Israel have been allies for a long time. Their militaries are the two best in the world.

Mr. Netanyahu's ideas are extremely useful because Obama doesn't have much of a plan when it comes to preventing s nuclear attack on Israel.

It is really interesting that Obama has shared his feelings about Israel and his feelings were positive, surprisingly. I think that Israel would be a good country to do your project on. Why did you decide to choose Israel? I would like to hear more about its social issues.

It was interesting that Israel is a small country but has many places to go. I'll bet that this is one the country that is also dangerous.
