Connect to the World on September 21st
A GlobalEd Event brought to you by the Global Education Conference Network
Host an Event!
Students, teachers, and organizations will get online to celebrate global collaboration on September 21st, 2017, as back-to-school season begins in the northern hemisphere.
On this day (and beyond), experienced global educators and other professionals will host connective projects and events and invite public participation. The primary goals of this whole day event are to demonstrate the power of global connectivity in classrooms, schools, institutions of informal learning and universities around the world, and to introduce others to the tools, resources, projects, and networks that are available to educators today.
The Global Education Conference Network believes in the power of connected, globally competent learners of all ages.....let's show others what connected learning looks like around the clock on September 21st!
Join an Event!
Students, educators, non-profit organizations and for-profit entities are encouraged to host ONE online event on Global Collaboration Day. Hosts will design and organize one activity or project that will do any of the following:
- introduce teachers and their students to the potential and excitement of global project-based learning
- educate fellow teachers about various connective and collaborative tools and resources
- call attention to the need and importance of fostering global competency in students AND teachers
Keep it simple! Suggested activities and tools are listed here. All events will be posted on an online calendar for participants to browse.
Make It Count!
Educators are encouraged to connect to at least one event listed on our calendar on September 21st in their timezone of choice. Events will be scheduled throughout the entire day. You can connect on your own or connect with your classroom depending on your preferences, level of connectivity access, and the event description itself.
Activities will include ones such as book chats, mystery location calls, interviews with experts, etc. There will be a calendar of events in YOUR time zone (scroll to the bottom of this page and select your time zone) as well as a directory of events posted on our website. Browse these resources and choose one activity that sounds interesting and of value.
IMPORTANT: Note that each host will have specific details and tech requirements, so you will need to consult with the host directly if you have questions.
Registration on our website is not required, but you may need to register with the host, depending on their event specifications. Read descriptions carefully in our event calendar!
Let's see how many participating classrooms, schools and organizations are connecting globally on September 21st! We will list your organization on our site when you fill out this form.
