  2. Take a look at two or three of the resources in the bulleted list below.
  3. Add a slide to OUR NOTES (yellow button below) that exemplifies your passion, inspiration and interests.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Watch the video below to stimulate your thinking about "the future"
  2. Respond to the questions in the Audacious Goal survey (green linked icon)
  3. Visit the Results of the survey.  Discuss with your small group.
  4. Add a slide to OUR NOTES (yellow button below) that depicts what you want for students.

(You can filter the results to see only your campus and/or grade level if desired.

In the flipped learning assignment (see video 1 from the yellow Video Tutorials button below if needed), Tracie defined H.E.A.T. as a lens for learning.  We use this lens as a tool to Turn Up the Heat.

INSTRUCTIONS A

1.  Because of our limited time together, choose one component of the H.E.A.T. Framework to focus on with your team today.  You may want to scroll through the Our Tools section first if you need more information.
2.  Watch the Tutorial video to learn more about that component of H.E.A.T

  1. Find the H.E.A.T. Framework component below that your group selected.
  2. Click the yellow button for resources, ideas, tools and suggestions.
  3. Discuss with your team how you can apply this lens to Turn Up the HEAT for students in your classroom.
  4. Add a slide to our notes that describes the tools you play to deploy for this D.I.Y. project

H=Higher Order Thinking

If you want to focus on pushing students to learn and question at the Applying, Analyzing and Evaluating/Creating level....

Consider/focus on one or more of these options:

  • Creating nonlinguistic Respresentations
  • Encourage Innovation
  • Be intentional about Questioning

E=Engagement

If you want to focus on increasing student engagement...

Consider/focus on options for

  • Student Voice & Choice
  • Collaboration Tools & Strategies

A=Authentic Connections

If you want to make learning more relevant to your students and foster connections beyond your classroom

Consider/focus on

  • Real World Task - maybe tap into Your passion/student passion/community passion
  • Real World Setting - what "Backyard Treasures" might you leverage

T=Transformative Technology Use

If you are using some technology tools, but you want to leverage the power of technology to transform classroom tasks. (This task is very open ended)

Consider/focus on the "what ifs"....what you want for kids...the is the biggest of all audacious goals.    Together dig, discover, research options to make that happen.  Refer back to the SAMR model to measure how far you are reaching.  Take a look at some of the ideas in the Resources Section if you need an idea spark.

Design Thinking -
Write our D.I.Y. Vision

INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Review the ideas generated during the three Learning Stations.

2.  Consider the Design Thinking infographics (from www.designthinkingforeducators.com) below to develop your D.I.Y. Vision. (on your handout).  Another way to say this, how can your team respond to this compelling question:

  • Consider the big concepts where your students struggle

2.  Work with your team to complete the task/steps determined in your D.I.Y. Vision and/or respond to

3.  Share your ideas, resources, etc. in Our Notes.

4. Be prepared to present your learning to two additional groups.
