About Geody Bennett
As a substitute teacher at Highland Presbyterian Nursery and Weekday School in Louisville, Kentucky, Geody Bennett applies nearly a decade of experience in children's services. Ms. Bennett began her career as a teacher and tutoring coordinator with AmeriCorps, where she served for a year before assuming an intake position with Louisville's Acute Child Psychiatric Services. She then transitioned into a school counselor role at Holy Spirit School, also in Louisville, where she taught life skills and monitored learning-plan implementation while providing counseling to individual children and to families. A licensed clinical social worker, Geody Bennett holds a master of science in social work and an undergraduate degree in psychology.
In her free time, Geody Bennett pursues a variety of interests, including running, cooking, traveling, and crafting. She recently complete her first half marathon, sponsored by the Louisville Sports commission, and maintains a successful Etsy shop through which she sells hand-printed kitchen linens. Dedicated to giving back to her community, as well, she volunteers regularly in her children's schools and has donated to organizations such as Home of the Innocents, St. Joe's Orphanage, and the Red Cross.
