"Hop Frog" by Edgar Allen Poe is Gothic because he is an evil, midget, villain. He kills the king and his 7 men in the low lit, stormy night. The king is also an evil villain who treats Hop Frog and his friend horribly. He meets the King and his 7 men into a secret room and tricks them into dressing up as aranatanges. Hop Frog hooks them onto the chandelier and burns them alive. In the end of the story Hop Frog and his friend leave the 8 charred corpses hanging and disappear forever.
