Daniel Behan McQuaid, the History of his History

Daniel Behan McQuaid originated from Akron Ohio, where he was once a young student, looking to start his educational career. Then he found his way to Rochester New York where he attended Rochester community college and attained his Associates degree. Those two years proved to be formative as he became quite interested in history. The subject matter was special to him because he quickly realize the value of this important topic. From there he attended Rochester University where he continued his studies and his particular focus and history. It was during this time that he realized that his affection for the topic could actually be his career, so he pursued his specialty in education at that point. He knew early on that he wanted to be a teacher at some level, so he applied himself day and night to that cause. One of the things that he learned was effective teaching which is a central point of how he conducts himself professionally day in and day out. He gained his teaching credential in soon began substitute teaching for a number of years and that allowed him to find the level at which he wanted to teach and to make the connections as well as build the experience that he needed to become a full-time teacher. He has been settled in at Elijah Parish Lovejoy Middle School for the last 15 years teaching students at the junior high level which is where he prefers to be and where he was to remain for the remainder of his career.
