Glass Cooktop Cleaning Instructions

If you have a glass cooktop in your kitchen then you should clean it on a regular basis. Aside of ensuring sanitation while preparing and cooking food, a regular cleaning schedule will also help you keep your glass cooktop looking good and in top condition for long.

Gas Surface Burners

  1. To prevent yourself from getting burned or injured, turn off all the gas burners and allow the glass cooktop to cool down completely.
  2. Fill a bowl with hot water and add a little bit of liquid dish-detergent to create a soap mixture.
  3. Remove the cooktop's gas surface burners and place them in the soap mixture for few minutes to make grime-clean easy.
  4. With a soft sponge, clean the surface burners after they have been in the mixture for a while.
  5. If you want you can use a straight pin to clean the inside of the hole of the surface burners.
  6. Rinse the surface burners in hot water and place them upside-down on a clean, dry towel and allow them to dry completely.

Gas Burner Grates Or Rings

  1. Fill a bowl with hot water and add a little bit of liquid dish-detergent to create a soap mixture.
  2. Remove the gas burner grates or rings from around each burner by lifting them.
  3. With a soft, non-abrasive sponge clean the grime away from each of the burner grates.
  4. If the stains or grime cannot be cleaned with the soap mixture do the following: Add 1 cup of baking soda to a big pot of boiling water and place the burner grates inside. Boil the grates until the grime gets removed.
  5. Rinse the burner grates under clean, warm water and place them on a dry, clean towel to dry completely.

Glass Cooktop Surface

  1. Wipe away all the chunks of debris and dried food like grains of rice that may be on the surface of the glass cooktop.
  2. Spray the entire glass cooktop with a soap and warm-water mixture or a glass cleaner.
  3. With a soft sponge or cloth, spread the cleaning solution around the surface of the cooktop and scrub the tough stains.
  4. Use a dry, clean cloth to remove the excess cleaning solution.
  5. Once you have finished cleaning, replace all the parts to their original spots.
