Conscience - What it is NOT
Conscience is a judgment of reason whereby the human person recognizes the moral quality of a concrete act that he [or she] is going to perform, is in the process of performing, or has already completed (CCC, 1778).
How Does it Work?
Most of our decisions involving our conscience simply become routine. This is where our virtues come in to play. We must exercise our virtues to develop a good conscience and to do good, moral acts. Can you think of an example?
Occasionally we have to stop and consider facts, different approaches, consult others, and pray. Can you think of an example of a time like this?
