The Convention theme, “Moral and Innovative Leadership: Building Healthy Families, Ethical Societies and a Global Culture of Peace,” will clarify the importance of principled leadership not only in public office, but in corporate life, the non-profit sector, and other areas of civic life as a precondition for social cohesion and peace.
- · The America’s Summit will convene daily from Thursday, November 29th – Saturday, December 1st featuring eleven former Presidents of Latin America in a groundbreaking collaborative dialogue on regional cooperation, sustainable development, North-South relations, and transparency and democratic governance. ·
- Points of Light workshop on Thursday, November 29th from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm called “Strategies for Transforming Volunteerism: International, National and Local Perspectives” which will provide and overview of the forces shaping volunteering in the United States and the roles being played by government, corporations, NGSs and citizens. ·
- GPFF’s Global Peace Awards on Saturday, December 1st at 7:00 pm honoring government, civil society and faith leaders and organizations whose exemplary efforts have substantially improved the lives of others and have a sustained commitment to realizing a world of peace.
- King Center Leadership Forum on Sunday, December 2nd at The King Center will host an
International Young Leader’s training session at the Martin Luther King Jr.
Center for Nonviolent Social Change. Participants will be appointed Global King
