About Glynn Servy
With ties to France and the United
States, Glynn Servy has drawn on his background to develop his career as
a foreign language educator. Born in Biarritz, France, he attended
school in both France and the U.S. During his eighth grade year, he
lived with an aunt and uncle and completed classes in France, while
participating in tae kwon do, horseback riding, and rugby; he also
joined the Boy Scouts. When Glynn Servy returned to the United States,
he played tennis, football, and basketball.
Glynn Servy then studied history at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and completed a Bachelor’s degree. As an undergraduate, he joined the debate team and the college bowl team. Later on, he returned to an academic environment to earn a kindergarten through 12th grade teaching certificate for French and Spanish from North Georgia College & State University. He also earned a Master’s degree in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca. Most recently, Glynn Servy has pursued a specialist certificate in Foreign Language Education from Auburn University.
Professionally, Glynn Servy has taught French, Spanish, and Italian to students in Georgia, and Ohio. He has provided instruction in high school and college level settings as well as in special summer programs and as a private tutor. In addition, he has contributed as an Office Manager in a real estate firm and as an inside sales representative for an accounting software company.
In his free time, Glynn Servy pursues a variety of interests, including wine tasting, tennis, and outdoor activities. He often hikes in Western North Carolina, and goes biking and running. He enjoys opera and continues to study Japanese calligraphy and origami, which he discovered when he studied abroad. Furthermore, he periodically sings at weddings.
