Rett Syndrome (Disorder Project)
Rett Syndrome is a disorder that exclusively affects girls. There are more than 10,000 girls in the world that have it. It also could lead to sever impairments. It affects there ability to eat, breathe, speak and walk. The way it works a gene that is called X chromosomes and from there the disease affects the other genes and it happens when they develop.
In this video this man is having a conversation with a girl that has Rett syndrome her name is Maggie(4 years old). She is using this computer helps her speak because the Rett syn. doesn't allow her to speak.
The founder was Dr Andreas Rett she saw it in 22 patients. Then by 1987 the numbers grew.So by 1987 that's when it was first discovered. Last year 10 people aroung the worl had it.
The symptons are slowed growth,which includes slow brain growth. Also, they lose their movement coordination ,they also lose abilities to talk and think. They can't control their hand movments, unusaul movement if their eyes.
