Perseverance, Phs. Ed 7, By Abby and Shelby
Perseverance-We think perseverance is never giving up and believing in yourself.
Walt Disney is a good example of perseverance because he had to overcome many obstacles.
Here are three of the obstacles he had to overcome.
He had dyslexia and dropped out of high school, but as a kid he loved to draw and was very creative.
He went bankrupt in 1923 in Kansas City, since he was fired because his boss said he lacked creativity. In 1928 he moved to Hollywood, created Mickey Mouse and overcame his bankruptcy.
While he was building the studio for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, the poor construction led to his mother dying of carbon monoxide poisoning. As a result of that Walt Disney was determined to make Disney Land a safe environment.
Despite all these obstacles, Walt Disney is still considered one of the most successful people to live. His greatest accomplishment was creating the worlds most successful, known amusement parks, as well as many award winning movies. Walt made 'Disney" a well known brand by both adults and children all over the world. Disney made the first sound and colour film which was 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.'
Walt Disney was born in Chicago on December 5, 1901. He died December 15, 1966. His parents were Flora Call Disney (mother) and Elia Disney (father). When he was five he and his family moved to a Missouri farm, the farm failed and in 1911 they moved to Kansas City. In 1917 he moved back to Chicago.
In conclusion Walt Disney is a good example of perseverance because he went through many struggles and had a tough early life, but he persevered and became one of the worlds' most well known, overly successful people.
