American Legacy: Truth

This campaign was successful because it portrayed all the harmful effects that smoking can cause.

Two advertising agencies came together to provide teens with the truth about smoking. As opposed to showing the world what happens, they figured it'd be easier to get kids not to start as opposed to getting life long smokers to quit. The campaign gave the world a sad truth that smoking could take 1200 lives in a day, this was represented by ghastly images of body bags that were smokers.The campaign was also very successful because of the live demonstrations that really set the world on notice, they took their demonstrations and turned them into TV advertisements. Thats what set this campaign apart from all the others, that's why it deserves to be in the top fifteen.

This was a really good campaign but if I was to continue it, I would also focus on teens that are pressured to smoke, or have just started smoking, because most teens don't smoke regularly like some adults do, so it is important that we stop them from smoking too.

I think this campaign was very effective and If it would come back they should focus more on social media advertising

They used the campaign really well by using the persons perspective and having a previous user in the commercial. They had used media by using a very personal experience for others to see

A new campaign could utilize an app that rewards spreading the word against smoking, or a hashtag that spreads a awareness of the risks of smoking. ADAM Kody

One positive of this campaign would be that it would sort of be informational for people with cancer.

I will definitely remember this commercial because when someone puts 1200 body bags on the street I think people will remember
