How many pyramids were in ancient Egypt? Whats the largest pyramid today?
There are about eighty pyramids known today from Egypt.
The three largest and best-preserved of these were built at giza at the beginning of the Old Kingdom. The best well-known of these pyramids was built for the pharaoh Khufu. the pyramid is known as the 'Great Pyramid'.
Who did the build pyramids for.
The ancient Egyptians build pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs and their wifes. The pharaohs were buried in pyramids of many different shapes and sizes from before the beginning of the Old Kingdom to the end of the Middle Kingdom.
The three major rooms in the great pyramids
The first room is the gold room. this room is filled with all gold objects the king has. And It is believed this will protect the king in the afterlife. The next room is the Furtic room. It contains food for the afterlife like: frogs, beetles, ravens, and dogs. The final room is the sarcophagus room. It holds the Pharaoh surrounded by water to help him sale to the afterlife
