Supporting Community Care as Leeds North West MP
About Gregg Mulholland
Liberal Democrat Gregg Mulholland has served as a member of Parliament for Leeds North West for nearly a decade. Active among his constituency, he regularly meets with area residents' associations and community groups, and he organizes “mini parliaments” that foster interest in politics among school-age children. Gregg Mulholland has served as chair of a number of all-party groups, including the Paediatric Mobility Reform group, and as co-chair of the Ageing and Older People Motor Neuron Disease group.
Reflecting his commitment to community health care, Gregg Mulholland has led campaigns to fight Leeds City Council’s longstanding efforts to close down the care homes it owns and operates. He introduced a Friends of Spring Gardens petition, signed by 2,000 constituents, into Parliament as a way of fighting one of two proposed care facility closures. As a result, executive board approval of Spring Gardens’ decommissioning occurred only after the establishment of an agreement to construct two alternative facilities before closing the facility. Gregg Mulholland also contributes to a number of local non-profit organizations, including Kids in Kampz and the Leeds Youth Opera.
