About Gregor McIver
With an extensive background in medical research, Gregor McIver is currently working toward his MD at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine. He previously completed his master’s degree in physiology and biophysics at Georgetown University in 2010. Gregor McIver had a research paper on the treatment of leukemia through hematopoietic stem cell transplant published by the institution’s medical school library.
Mr. McIver pursued undergraduate studies in biology at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and completed EMT training at Santa Barbara City College. As an undergraduate, he volunteered locally with the Cottage Hospital emergency room. He greeted patients, handled lab tests, and reported symptoms to on-duty triage nurses. This experience gave him a firsthand understanding of the critical importance of physician communication in emergency situations.
An avid surfer, Gregor McIver was a lifeguard and surf instructor at Campsurf in Manhattan Beach, California, for nearly a decade. He performed demonstrations and instructed students of all ages in group and individual settings.
