Greg Sandoval - Experienced Leader in California Higher Education
A recognized educator and community servant, Greg Sandoval has served the California education system as a dedicated leader and change agent for many years. Sandoval has received numerous accolades for his academic and community leadership. For the 2005 Hispanic Heritage Month in the San Diego region he received recognition from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2008, he established the first Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Scholarship Breakfast at Southwestern Community College District, where he served as vice president of student affairs and interim superintendent. The Chicano Latino Coalition recognized Greg Sandoval in 2010 for his 31 years of dedication to the Southwestern Community College District. Additionally, the State of California Legislature recognized his 16 years of educational leadership in the Sweetwater Union High School District, where he served as a member of the board of trustees.
Most recently, Sandoval spent four years in the role of vice president for Student Services at Moreno Valley College. At the recently accredited college, which serves a diverse student body of 8,500, Sandoval was the first to hold the position with responsibility for administering student services programs. His accomplishments at Moreno Valley College include re-establishment of the bus transportation program in 2014, creation of events to raise scholarship funds, and securing $200,000 in 2013 to support early/middle college programs with local school districts.
