Social Studies

Victory Place @ Coppell and the Coppell Middle Schools team(comprised of learners from CMS-East, CMS-North and CMS-West) had an outstanding showing at the District 5 Conference for the Youth and Government program sponsored by the YMCA. A large number of learners in both the Junior High and High School divisions qualified for the State competition in Austin. Coppell ISD also had learners receive the Distinguished Delegate Award. Congratulations to all of these young men and women who have invested their time and energy to be a part of this tremendous program.

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

In preparation for 8th grade learners from the middle schools making the transition to CHS or NTH@C next year, Ms. Harrell (HB5 District Coordinator) and I will be making a Video to provide information to better inform decisions about Endorsement Pathways. We hope these videos will provide much-needed information to learners and parents as they make scheduling decisions for their upcoming freshmen year.

The school report cards have been posted to your T-Share folder. Please communicate the information in the cover letter and SRC to your parents on January 16 when report cards are sent home. This information may be provided in the same manner you normally transmit official communication. If sent electronically, please provide a printed copy (black and white is fine) to anyone without access to the electronic version. The SCRs will be on the district website, as well, with the definitions.

Please let your staff know that I am working with Eduphoria to fix the issue of missing data and missing TEKS. I have received several Help Desk tickets on difficulties accessing and finding information. While I believe the access errors have been fixed by Eduphoria, information is still missing.

The Coppell ISD educator recognition program called "SuperTeacher" highlights the 21st Century learning environments, learning designs, and assessments that educators are implementing all over the district to transform teaching and learning.

Members of the CISD staff have the chance to nominate educators with supporting evidence of transformation. Evidence may include, but is not limited to, photos, videos and/or written descriptions. Evidence supporting the nomination can be submitted on the form linked below. Nominations should make connections to Dimensions/Domains within the CISD Educator Evaluation Instrument as well.

Nominations will be accepted online throughout the year, and Dr. Waldrip will personally acknowledge the best of the best during a special lunch!
