About Gustavo Stringel
Certified by the American College of Physician Executives, Dr. Gustavo Stringel has served as surgeon-in-chief with the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at the Westchester Medical Center for more than 15 years. He also directs the Hudson Valley facility’s pediatric and minimally invasive surgery programs, and he holds responsibilities as president of the Multidisciplinary Pediatric Surgery Group. Dr. Gustavo Stringel’s efforts were vital in the establishment of the latter group, which encompasses 30 professionals.
Dr. Stringel also maintains a tenured position with the New York Medical College in Valhalla. As surgery and pediatrics professor, he instructs a diverse group of medical students and residents. He has supported the community-building efforts of students, with an emphasis on the creation of robust health care systems that fulfill the needs of uninsured and underserved patients. Respected in his field, Dr. Stringel has published articles in more than 80 academic journals and has fulfilled public speaking engagements at scientific conferences around the globe.
