ENERGY ROLES

The way the energy rolls from organism to organism.

Producers:cactus,elephant tree,Organ Pipe cactus,desert sage,Desert Marigold,Desert Lily,Palm tree.

Consumers:camel,rabbits,kangaroo rats.

Decomposers:beetle,earthworm,millipedes.

Different types of consumers: omnivores, herbivore, carnivores, and scavengers. Herbivores: organisms diet that mainly consists of plants. Carnivores: organisms diet that consists of mainly meat. Omnivores: organisms diets that consist of meat and plants. Scavengers: organisms that doesn't focus on one organism they find dead animals and scavenge the body for meat.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS

CO2(carbon dioxide)+ H2O(water)+ light energy-->C6H12O6(glucose)+O2(oxygen)

3.They need CO2,water,and sunlight.They give off glucose and oxygen.

The shape of the energy pyramid shows how small the energy is passing from one organism to another.

Producers are at the bottom of the pyramid because the producers gets its energy directly from the sun, and the producers have the most energy.The predators are at the top because they get the least amount of energy.

FOOD CHAIN AND FOOD WEB

Food webs are more realistic than food chains is because Food webs include multiple food chains, so they encompass more animals and plants. In the real world you can't single out any one food chain, so it is much more realistic to look at the big picture.

TROPHIC LEVELS AND ENERGY PYRAMIDS  

Population: if you removed one population out of the food web it could affect the other organisms in the same ecosystem.

TROPISMS

the turning of all or part of an organism in a particular direction in response to an external stimulus.         

EX-phototropism is a reaction to sunlight) and may be either positive (towards the stimulus) or negative (away from the stimulus).

They allow the plant to obtain more sunlight, more water, to edge out the competetion, and so on.

THE ROLE OF DECOMPOSERS

They decompose to the ground and get natural minerals and restart the circle of life.If there was no decomposers there would be no cycle and the cycle would break.

Decomposers in my environment are beetle,earthworm,and millipedes

The last part on your portfolio has to do with energy pyramids and not photosynthesis, so make sure that you move it up to be in the correct section. Looks good so far; make sure to read through the instructions to make sure you are answering all of the correct quesitons.
