Session 1

During session 1, I learned how a radio station operates. Then was introduced to various radio program formats. The final thing I did was learn how to use a digital audio editing software program.

Session 2

During session 2, I learned the role advertising plays in radio. Then used digital audio editing software to record. After that I applied effects to a prewritten commercial. Finally I wrote and recorded a commercial of my own.

Session 3

During session 3, I wrote a script for me to use in session 4. Also I practiced my script so that I know what I'm saying during my recording. I did this so that there wont be dead space during my recording.

In session 4 I recorded my script and edited it. Also I recorded other parts to my full product. After I finished recording and editing, I got ready for tomorrows session of putting them together.

Session 5

During session 5, I created music lead-ins and lead-outs for my news broadcast. Also I created lead-ins and lead -outs for my commercial broadcast.

Session 6

While in session 6, I continued working on lead-ins and lead-outs. I also prepared to add them to my final production. By the end of my broadcast it will have a nearly perfect and fluent.

Session 7

During session 7, I assembled all of my other audio files. These include my lead-ins and my lead-outs. After this I got started to mix the audio files together and make them flow fluently. Finally I finished my complete broadcast and then burned it to a CD.

Careers in Audio Broadcasting

A job that would be related with this career field would be a radio broadcaster. They would be in charge of making sure the radio is up and going. Also they would help edit the radios broadcast. They would make sure that the recording flows smoothly and that it makes sense. Another thing they would do is make sure there isnt any mistakes in the recording. For example, a slip up during recording or a spot being skipped.
