The country of Philippines is located in Asia. The Philippines has a population of more than 90 million people and an annual growth rate of around 2%, making it one of the most populous and fastest growing countries on Earth. Having many people in a small country can be a problem.
The Philippines experiences many water problems such as drought, water contamination, and fish kills. "Majority of child deaths are caused by water contamination" these are one of the headlines in the Philippines, today. Many people living in this country do not have access to clean drinking water. Some people even wait in a long line just to get clean water for their families to drink.
When typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, survivors were desperate for clean water than ever. Thousands of people were affected by the typhoon and water shortage.
Water shortages and water contamination can be fixed by drilling more wells to get ground water. You can also build more towers to store water for hot days that it do not rain.
