The summer between my junior and senior years of high school has been a busy one, to say the least. I spent most of my time with my family. Living alone with my grandmother, I have a lot of responsibilities in my home. Taking care of whatever she needed me to do came first, and then I would spend my free time in several ways.
I consider myself a film "buff," I suppose. Over the course of the summer, I expanded my collection greatly. It's an incredible feeling to think, "I'd like to watch a movie tonight," and have a vast group to choose from.
When I'm not busy, I like to spend time out on a basketball court. I've only played for a team one year in high school, but I've loved the sport ever since I first tried picking up a ball in the summer after eighth grade.
I, like several others in this room, spent some of the last moments of my summer with my classmates. Our senior bonfire was a great time to catch up with everyone after being away for break.
