Mathematics: Mary Kemper

CISD Mathematics now has a blog (cisdmath.blogspot.com) and is sending email updates. Blog emails will contain [MARKETING], so read carefully before you delete!

The intended audience for the CISD Mathematics blog is all math educators & campus administrators (the information is different than that in the Courier).———————————————————————————————————

The Dana Center has a web page devoted to helping you answer the question: What Should I Look for in a Math Classroom? (http://www.utdanacenter.org/mathtoolkit/support/look.php)

The information is divided into two categories:

What are students doing?

  • What are teachers doing?

I encourage you to read over the descriptors and consider them as talking points when reflecting after classroom visits.———————————————————————————————————

Choose Early Mathematics Intervention

This site is password protected and the username is: texas teacher and the password is: mathematics

The site is filled with assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring tools.

Please explore the site and let Mary (or Ashley Minton or Diana Saylak) know how we can support your campus in any way with this resource.———————————————————————————————————

Please review these google slides: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1sU6tCfe-7e8drjnBTZoUV4cahtvZ3rNT4lnJjoJArcg/edit?usp=sharing for more information about how our Elementary Math Textbook, Go Math!, can support RtI on your campus.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mary (or Ashley Minton or Diana Saylak) for more information.———————————————————————————————————

Digital access to all grades (K-5) of our online Elementary Math Textbook, Go Math! is available to all math educators, including those in Intervention Services. We are pleased that all SpEd math educators have digital access to all (K-5) resources as purchasing print materials for all 6 grade levels for each of these educators is not feasible. Any questions regarding textbook access for those educators in Special Programs can be directed toward Montie Parker or Mary Kemper.

Librarians: Debra Marshall

Shannon Miller Workshop for CISD Librarians

September 23, 2014

Thank you all for contributing money so that all of us could attend this training and workshop. Shannon has created this Smore as a flipped opportunity for us, and I wanted to share so that you know what our agenda and learning for the day will be.

Feel free to access the Smore to see a timeline of the day, and our twitter hashtag for the event (please follow our learning tweets). Additionally, Shannon has created a Padlet for us to submit questions that she will answer during a special Q&A session or suggest topics they would like her to cover. https://www.smore.com/szegj-a-special-invitation-for-you

This is our first in, hopefully, a series of shared learning with librarians in Highland Park, Gravevine-Colleyville, Northeast, Southlake, and Coppell I school districts.

Assessment: Debbie Youngs
