The Moon's Importance
When the moon is full, it provides light, that helps us see. The moon causes the tides. The moon is important to Earth, without it there would be no tides. The moon can cause beautiful things like lunar and solar eclipses. It is impossible to live on the moon, but the moon is still very pretty to look at. When there is a lunar eclipse, the moon turns red. When there is a solar eclipse, the moon blocks out the sun.
The moon has many phases. There is waxing, waning, full moon, and new moons. We only see one side of the moon even though the moon goes through many phases. During a full moon, you see craters on the surface of the moon that look like a face, it is called "The Man In The Moon".
