       After two decades of planning, fundraising, and construction on October 16,2011 the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial was shown to the public.The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is located in West Potomac Park, in Washington D.C. The memorial  is dedicated to Martin Luther King Jr.He was a very famous Human Rights Activist and Baptist. King was an iconic figure in the advancement of  Civil Rights in the U.S. and other countries.

       The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. He dreamed of racial equality and he gave many speeches, such as the "I Have a Dream" speech. King did many things in his lifetime,King influenced many people with his words and sermons. He is one of the only people to get a memorial and not be a president. King was assassinated fighting for his rights, and the world is still moved by his words and his fight.
