Bread of Life Discourse
Jesus and his Disciples, along with a large crowd, were sitting in a mountain. There was not enough food for the amount of people present, so Jesus multiplied loaves and fishes to feed them all. The next day, the crowd looked for Jesus again. They asked him how they might do God's works. Jesus responded, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."
The crowd murmured, for they did not understand how Jesus could be the 'Bread from Heaven.' They thought they knew him as the son of Mary and Joseph. Jesus responded, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh."
The crowd again murmured, for how could they eat Jesus' flesh? Was this not cannibalism? They were offended, and the crowd along with many Disciples left him. The Apostles were faithful, However, for they knew that Jesus was the one True God.
With God's gift of his flesh, all are brokenness may be left aside, and will shall be healed.
