Located in the northwest corner of Georgia, just east of Alabama, is the Appalachian, or Cumberland, Plateau. Its climate is temperate. Durring the winter, temperatures can get as low as 30 degrees , and there is little precipitation. The Appalachian plateau's land is mostly mde up of rocky landscapes and occasional valleys. This makes it a great stop for tourists! The area also has great economic significance because the vast Appalachian coalfield lies beneath it. However, only a small part of the Appalachian Plateau lies in Georgia. A visit to Cloudland Canyon State Park located in Dade county provides a spectacular view of the sandstone that forms the edge of the plateau.
Also, located in the Appalachian Plateau is the world famous Lookout Mountain.
a road side attraction that can be found on the way to lookout mountain is ROCK CITY! In rock city you can go and see seven states all at once!
