The Magic and Fearless Harry Houdini

This is a picture of Harry Houdini just walking around the streets.

Website's Purpose and Publisher Info

My name is Tony Stratiou and I am a 6th grade student at Holman Middle School. This is my 1st period class and my great teacher is Mr. McCormack. This is one of our research projects that we are doing currently in English.

I chose Harry Houdini because of his influences and he shows never to give up, anything is possible. Harry was an astonishing locksmith which means he could break from locks, chains, and ropes and not only that, but Harry Houdini also does magic tricks to fool the crowded audience. He is a great influence, and whatever you want to accomplish, you can go forward to your goal... Never give up!

Description Paragraph
Harry's Early Life

Erich Weisz (Harry Houdini) was born on March 24, 1874 in Budapest, Hungary. He was a brilliant man, with black sort of curly hair. He put on his own magic show when he was just 9 years old, it was at a circus, and he called himself the prince of the air! Later, after he was given his name by a famous French Magician named Robert Houdin, and adding the I meant "like houdin" so he got his name Houdini. Also, he got the name Harry because it is the Americanized version of his real name. Several years later, The brothers started a huge act in Chicago, it was Theo, Harry's brother and Harry.

Cause and Effect Paragraph
A Little Bit of Fame

Early on in Houdini's career, he performed a trick which gained him some fame. This led to several effects. Houdini found a team of people to work with him and help him market his business. He also traveled over seas to gain more fame and performed there. Later, a blacksmith made master handcuffs for one of his best tricks yet that took him five years to make! Amazingly, in an hour, Houdini was out of the handcuffs.
