My Trip to South Africa
I just arrived today at Hendrik Van Eck airport in South Africa. After a long flight, I wanted to walk around. I went to Kruger National Park. It was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so I decided to go take a walk on the trails. When I was walking on the trails, I saw many animals. My favorite was the elephants.
Today I flew to Cape Town International Airport to go to the Greenmarket Square. It was so interesting! There were so many people selling jewelry and clothes that they made. Since most people in South Africa speak English, I could easily bargain with the vendors. It was fun bargaining with the vendors. I ended up buying two decorated ostrich eggs, which are very popular in South Africa.
Today I went on an Aerial Cableway up Table Mountain. Table Mountain is said to be one of the oldest mountains in the world. When I got to the top of the mountain, I could see most of Cape Town. Cape Town is the second most populated city in South Africa. I could see lots of buildings. I loved the view!
Today I went to Robben Island. My favorite part of the island was the prison. This prison is where Nelson Mandela spent 18 years in. I thought it was fascinating because this prison has held over 3,000 political prisoners.
