Ronald e. Evans  

Ronald e. Evans was on 10 of Nov , 1933 in St . Francis, Kansas. He was active as a boy scout  of America. He graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka, Kansas. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, and Master of Science Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the US Post -Graduate School in 1964.

In June 1957 he completed Flight Training after receiving his Commission as an Esign through the Navy R.O.T.C. Program, at the University of Kansas. When notified of his selection to the Astronaut Program he was on Sea Duty in the Pacific, assigned to VF-51 and flying F-8 Crusader from the Carrier USS Ticonderoga,during a period of 7 months in the Vietnam war combat operation.The total flight time during his military career was 5,100 hours including 4,600 hours in jet aircraft

Evans was one of the ninteen people chosen by NASA in 1966. He served as a member of  the astronaut support crews for Apollo 7& Apollo 11 flights, and as backup command module pilot  for Apollo  14. Evans first and only space flight was Apollo 17, the last scheduled us manned mission to the moon. He was accompanied by Eugene Cernan & Harrison Schmitt ,while Cernan & Schmitt landed and worked in the Taurus Littrow valley,Evans remained on board the command module ''America'' in lunar orbit ,completing assigned  work tasks which required visual, geological observations and hand-held photography.He holds the record of more time spent in lunar orbit : 6 days , 4 hours and 18 minutes
