Now a days if we seen a stage like that we would have thought it looked really weird. It is still divided, and stages are more simpler now. The audience feels like they are a part of the action. The stages went everywhere they went. They would set them up in the court yards and inns, the audience would stand around them and watch, but they had to pay to sit in seats. The first actual stationary stage was invented in 1576 by James Burage. It was built outside the city of London.
