Indian Wrestlers Dominate Senior Night and Fall Just Short in Conference Tournament
Last week the Indian wrestling team dominated their Senior Night. They wrestled Sioux Central (75-6), West Bend Mallard (63-16), and Southeast Valley (66-12). The team was feeling good, and ready to prove that they were the best going into the Twin Lakes Conference tournament on Saturday. There was a major upset with senior Mitch Brinkman who got caught and pinned. The Indians were going back and forth for first place with SCC all throughout the day. In the finals round the Indians had previously been behind, so they were playing catch up. Going into the 195 pound finals match, it was known that if this one match was won, the Indians would win the tournament. The match went into overtime, and after going back and forth Zayne Barrett of SCC defeated Tyler Case. The Indians placed second to SCC by 7 1/2 points. Tonight they dual ELC and Alta-Aurelia at Alta hoping to improve their record to 20-2.
