Lab Rotations: What are the benefits? It’s personalized according to what the student has or needs to learn. The focus is not only individual achievement though but collaboration and team. 21st century skills are at the forefront of this model while helping to keep students engaged and improving achievement. I like how computers were not the focus but a rotation in which students received more personalized activities to collect data and provide differentiation to meet needs.

Station Rotation is a form of blended learning ... allows kids to move around the room, smaller tasks are presented so kids stay interested and not feel so overwhelmed in doing a large task over a large amount of time, differentiation is achieved more with the splitting of groups – can be done so with group dynamics of students, learning styles, abilities, etc.

The Lab Rotation Model allows the teacher to do a whole group instruction, online practice for the student, and small group and identified intervention. The team portion of the model allows students to work on group projects. This model included two different teachers ~ one specializing in English and Social Studies while the other teacher specializes in Math and Science. It may be hard to implement in the traditional high school setting, but the video shows it being implemented in the elementary setting.
