SMORE vs. TACKK

Both are free websites that allow you to put content conveniently together in one place to share!

Smore

Pros:

They provide the templates, you provide the content

Newsletters and flyers look professional

Can share through email and social media, or print it out

Gives you analytics on how many people have viewed your content

Cons:

The free membership only allows for 5 flyers

Educator pricing is $59 a year

Not very many free templates; limited options

Examples:

Para Conference Flyer

LHS Overdrive Directions

Central Zone Engage! Flyer

TACKK

Pros:

Use their templates or start from a blank canvas

More social-media friendly; can share with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

Can allow for comments to encourage feedback and collaboration

Cons:

Somewhat linear presentation style

If you create free TACKK without signing up for account, it disappears after 7 days

Examples: (In addition to what you're looking at now!)

Coding in the Library

The Netflix Workout

Using Canva

Canva is a great website for creating posters, flyers, and infographics.  Some images and templates cost money, but many things are free.

You can create something on Canva and upload it into Smore or Tackk.

Can't find the right photo?  Use your own or search Flickr.

Your assignment:

Use Canva and create a poster about yourself.  Nothing fancy, just something about your work, hobbies, family, what you're doing on summer break, etc.
