Industrial Revolution Olivia Carlile-Hour 4
Corruption sums up the Industrial Revolution to a tee. Wealthy business owners capitalized on down and out people starving for work, putting them in deadly working conditions and treating them like slaves for only pennies a day. People were so eager to work, the mills didn't have to walk more than a few steps to replace a worker. That’s what they did anyway, replace people, instead of picking them up and dusting them off business owners would discard them like a piece of trash leaving them more desolate than before they started the job. This using and abusing of people for pretty much all the profit going to the owners the entire system of the Industrial Revolution was extremely corrupt.
