Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Countable nouns:

1. Can be singular or plural: apple - apples; banana - bananas; person - people.

2. Go with: * a/an + singular form: an apple; a tomato

                     * some / any: I've got some apples, but I haven't got any bananas.

Uncountable nouns:

1. Always use singular form: sugar; milk; rice; water.

2. Go with: * some / any: Is there any milk in the fridge?

                                              There is some rice in the microwave.
