George Washington was the first president of the United States,  the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the Founding Fathers of the US. He was called "father of his country" even during his lifetime. He had a vision of great and powerful nation that would be built on republican lines using federal power. Washington, the capital of the US, got it's name by him.
